Frequently Asked Questions
  1. How can I reserve a puppy? 1. Fill out an application and wait to hear that it is approved 2. Place the $500 deposit which goes towards the purchase price. 3. Pick our your puppy
  2. When do I get to pick out my puppy? We do puppy picks in order of when the deposits were received. If you are not local we can video call you to show you the puppies and answer any questions you have about each of them. If you are local you can come by to pick out your puppy at scheduled time.
  3. I live out of state. How do I get my puppy? We have safe and trusted ways to transport your puppy that we can recommend. There are ground pet transporters and for those a little further we would recommend a flight nanny. A flight nanny flies with your puppy in cabin. We do not allow our puppies to be flown as cargo. Again, we have excellent people that we can recommend for ground or flight.
  4. Where are the puppies raised? Our puppies are raised in our home. They start outside in a bedroom nursery and as they get older are moved to a common area in our home. We love to have the puppies safe in our home and they benefit from being well socialized and exposed to common household noises.
  5. What is a F1b goldendoodle? A F1b goldendoodle is a goldendoodle (golden retriever + poodle) bred back to a poodle. In our case we are breeding our goldendoodle back to a miniature poodle to create smaller, goldendoodle.
  6. What is a multigenerational goldendoodle? A multigenerational goldendoodle is any goldendoodle above a F1b. Multigenerational goldendoodles need to be tested for proper coats to ensure the traditional goldendoodle look and desired low shedding traits. Shoreside tests all of our multigenerational goldendoodle parents to make sure our puppies have the desired goldendoodle qualities.
  7. Do goldendoodles shed? They can but none of our parent dogs shed.
  8. Do you health test your dogs? Yes. Both the mother and father are genetically and structurally health tested and clear.  We follow the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) testing guidelines for the parents dogs breed. Our dogs and their puppies health are of utmost importance to us. We are happy to show you their test results.
  9. Do you have a health guarantee? Yes. Your puppy comes with a 2 year health guarantee against the genetic defects that are common to this breed and were recommended to test for.  Our contract can be viewed on the Purchase Information page at the bottom of the page.
  10. Are you a big breeder? No. Shoreside Doodles in Morehead City, NC is a small in home hobby breeder that focuses on quality goldendoodles. We've had goldendoodles since 2008. They have been wonderful dogs in every way and that is what we strive for in our puppies.
  11. How big are your goldendoodles? The petite or micro mini goldendoodles will average under 25 lbs and the mini/medium puppies will range from 25-40 lbs. However, there can be outliers and we cannot guarantee the weight of a full grown dog.
  12. Can I breed my dog I purchase from Shoreside Doodles? Breeding rights will be considered to approved and responsible breeders.
  13. Do you require spay or neutering? We have a spay neuter contract that your puppy must be spayed or neutered by 12 months. We do require notification and all that is laid out in our contract. Failure to receive notification of spay neuter will result in a void of any health guarantees and you will not receive your registered paperwork or transfer of microchip.
